I had a conversation with my nephew yesterday and it resparked my desire to attempt the next Gateway tape. It’s one day before Burning Man, so I’ve been a bit overloaded and challenged otherwise.
I was also a bit hesitant about this specific tape since I want sure what problem to focus on, as it’s primarily about helping facilitate solutions around a specific issue . I decided to ask “How can I best have meaningful conversations through my installation?” For context, I intend to have a popup table with a banner saying “MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS” with the being to facilitate meaningful interactions.
This was the first time I did a tape half-sitting up. I felt very comfortable, but I’ve been very emotionally disregulated since yesterday and my mind was very active and pinging me to think about other situations. This was still wonderful and fun, easily my favorite tape so far. They have you go into and then out of the ‘solution space’ three times and each one was like a playful dream episode of possible ideas and aspects. I don’t feel like I can go quite as deep or as easily into the focus states as the tapes imply is possible, but it’s nice to have a framework and just keep throwing the spaghetti.
I felt good and rested afterwards, ready to have breakfast. Looking forward to the next session.
